Ashley's Assignments: I Make Videos Sometimes

I previously refused to get into making videos, but then I decided to ignore everything and take a video journalism class—here's some stuff I've made.

Hi friends!

It’s that time of year again: The time when school—I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in journalism—is kicking my butt. I’ve been proud of myself for keeping pace with my publishing schedule here, but I need to take a break this week.

One new challenge I’ve faced this term is being a teaching assistant! It’s easily the most time-consuming thing I’ve done at school, but also the most rewarding: I’ve taught in various capacities during my coffee career, but teaching students about the ins and outs of journalism has been rewarding in a way I didn’t expect. I absolutely love it.

On top of teaching, I’m also taking on a full courseload (along with my work at Fresh Cup, where I’m the managing editor). One of my classes is about video journalism, and I’ve made two videos so far, which I thought I’d share with paid subscribers. Enjoy!
