As someone in a similar situation to Gefen before she launched Couplet, I often find myself feeling immense insecurity around my lack of experience in the coffee industry, lack of experience roasting, lack of palate development, the list goes on... but yet... Couplet exists. And doesn't just exist like... the coffee is good and an objectively successful retail operation. I bought some a bit ago and was impressed!
It's just really refreshing to see that someone can break into the industry without ya know, a decade of experience, or some barista championship laurel and still create something unique, successful, and a niche that was previously unmet by the industry.
