Great article Ashley. I love the your history of “pizza for performance” in elementary school. Reminds me of my kids and mom and I getting more excited than the kids. Good foundation for setting up the relevance of the article. Excellent portrayal of corporate bullshit.
This has unfortunately triggered a memory of my current bosses laying off a significant % of employees unceremoniously in Q4 last year and immediately following up with a pizza party, during which they gave a speech about how we should all be grateful to still be here. Anyway I work remotely so I had to call in via Zoom and didn't even get pizza <3 (Also wow I just moved to Madison I didn't know that's where you're based!!!!)
